Presentation preparation
How can PRESENTATION PREPARATION help you?
– MAKE YOUR SCRIPT
HAVE AN IMPACT
– USE THE RIGHT WORDS
– TALK TO, NOT AT YOUR LISTENERS
– PRONUNCIATION & INTONATION
Make your script have an impact
In order to prepare for the lesson(s), please give me your rough presentation (script), so that I can have my comments ready for the next class. This way we can jump into the presentation immediately. You must have something ready, as I will not write your presentation for you; I will edit it.
Use the right words
Each presentation needs to have the right words to make an impact. The Presentation Preparation classes/course will help you identify what words are needed and how to use them to create the most impact.
Talk to, not at your listeners
"What! I am talking to you?" Did you know there is a difference between talking TO someone and talking AT someone? During the class/course, we will hear the differences between these two subtle differences when making a presentation and how they can impact your presentation.
Pronunciation & Intonation
Did you know that how you pronounce a word and how you say it will have an impact on the person you talk to? The Presentation Preparation course will go over how you say your words and how people will receive your message.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Presentation Preparation classes/course are meant to improve your presentation skills and one that you have to give in the near future. They are designed to give you the most effective words and style that will make people want to be engaged in what you have to say. Most importantly, they can be used for online or in-person presentations.
The classes will work from a script/PPT that you have written and that I have reviewed. We will go over each sentence and make sure that the words are correct and ones that will make the most impact. We will integrate your pronunciation practice and intonation for clarity and impact, and how to use your hand gestures to emphasize your feelings. Finally we will talk about the differences between memorizing your script or using key words to get you through.
